In Düsseldorf on the 18th of March 2018 the world’s most important wine and spirit trade fair, the ProWein opened its gates. Thanks to the cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agricultural Marketing Centre and the Pálinka National Council, our country showed for the very first time at a corporate stand the first „Hungaricum”, the Pálinkas of Excellence. As an accompanying event of the exhibition, on the 19th of March with the participation of the Hungarian Consulate General of Düsseldorf, experts of the Ministry of Agriculture held a presentation to promote and open the wonderful world of the pálinka to a wider audience. The invited guests were able to savour the finest pálinkas, including Hungary’s Best Pálinka 2017.

At the event, Balázs Szegner, Consul General, and Péter Gál, Deputy State Secretary for Products with Protected Indication welcomed the audience. The General Consul emphasized that it is important to promote and present beside wine our other Hungaricum, values as well. Péter Gál said that the presence of Pálinka at the trade fair is of paramount importance to the Ministry, as Germany is a potential market for our number one Hungaricum.

ProWein organizers, local trade chains, the HoReCa (service provider) sector and the representatives of the agricultural, food and business elites appeared at the event. In addition to the exhibition, the event at the Consulate General opened up further opportunities for companies to develop more business, relationships with the professionals.
